Does anyone know how I can set up a project using the Web Application Project and DAL+ (not the DNN Starter Kit)?
I find DAL+ easier to use developing my own modules.

Thank you both for the answer, but you misunderstood my question. I wanna develop a dnn module using WAP, NOT using the DotNetNuke Starter Kit. I wanna avoid abstract and concrete methods. If you look at the tutorial SuperFast and SuperSimple DAL+ in the DNN tutorials, it puts the info.vb and controller.vb files in the App_Code folder of DNN, but when using the WAP, that folder does not exist. So, how can I use WAP without the App_Code folder to develop a dnn module?

If you follow the method using the DNN WAP template, you will get what you want. (link two posts above)  The project is created outside the DNN starter kit and a simple reference is made to dotnetnuke.dll and Microsoft.ApplicationBlocks.Data.dll.

The WAP project creates a Components directory which contains your info.vb, dataprovider.vb, controller.vb and sqldataprovider.vb.  They are not compiled into the App_Code folder.  In fact, you won't even see an App_Code folder.

MSBuild is used to copy the WAP project dll to the dnn bin directory.  When you deploy, all you need to move is your ascx  and any supporting files (eg: images, resx, etc).  Then just make sure you have your project dll in the dnn bin directory on production and your done.  From that point, you can register the module in host setting just like any other.
