I'm trying to add a forum module on my Forum Page and I get an error "A critical error has occured, The stored procedure 'dbo.Forum_GroupGetAll' doesn't exist."

Any ideas on how to resolve this error will be highly appreciated....

It sounds like either A.) The forum is not installed correctly, or B) your connection string in the 'AppSettings" section of the web.config is incorrect.

I have the same problem.

  • I installed the 4.5.5 starter kit
    • SQL Express
    • Vista
    • IIS 7
  • DNN opens fine and I can configure sites and users.
  • When I install the Forum module under Modeul Definitions, it appears OK.
  • WHen I add a forum to a page, then I get the message
    • The stored procedure 'dbo.Forum_GroupGetAll' doesn't exist

WHat should I look at to debug this???

Thanks!

OK.  Here is the solution.

As noted there are 2 SQL statements that need to be edited.  One for ASP.NET 2.0 and one for 'legacy modules'.  I had not added the one for legacy modules.

The DNN Event Viewer was helpful in seeing that there was an SQL problem and the the MS SQL Svr Mgmt Express allowed me to see that all of the data was actually in the database.

So, chalk it up to a newb issue.
