Hello,

I have created a VS 2005 web application with a web reference to an IWeb web service that looks like this:

http://MySite/Portal/DesktopModules/IWeb/webservice.asmx

When I try to access this web service from a page's code, this works well.  However, if I try to access this from a VB code module, I get a "IWeb.WebService is not defined' error.  This is what my code looks like:

Dim service As IWeb.WebService

Dim header As IWeb.IWebAuthendicationHeader = New IWeb.IWebAuthendicationHeader()
Dim strName As String = Request.ServerVariables("LOGON_USER")
header.Username = strName
header.Password = “ThisPW”
header.Encrypted = "True"

service = New IWeb.WebService()
service.IWebAuthendicationHeaderValue = header

Dim result As String = String.Empty

result = service.IsUserHere(My.Settings.WS_Role_Admins)

lblWSResult.Text = result

Again, this works when the code is in a page's code-behind file, but does NOT work when it is in a separate code module (in the same project).  I would appreciate any suggestions.  Thank you!

Are you actually getting a value for the Request.ServerVariables...portion?

Yup, I checked it as it stepped through the code.  I even hard coded it initially to test.

Thanks for your reply & keep 'em coming.

IWebAuthendicationHeader is located in the Namespace "DotNetNuke.Modules.IWeb". From any module that is not inside that namespace you need to refeer to it using the namespace;

DotNetNuke.Modules.IWeb.IWebAuthendicationHeader

is that the problem?
