Ahh ok, I was misunderstanding what you where saying then. Is there a way to make a user auto-trusted when they sign up? Today I just ran an update statement on SQL to add the flag to all the users..

No, the forum doesn't allow people to edit regardless unless they are trusted.

Does marking the users as trusted allow them to only edit their posts, or can they edit any post?

You can set it in the Forum edit section as Forum admin.
