I'm new here, and I didn't see any kind of FAQ, or anything, or a general topics section for the forum, so I'm posting here.  My apologies if this is not the best location to do so.

I am simply looking for a module for DNN that can be used to do something similar but MUCH more basic than these community sites, like myspace, and friendster, etc.  I am looking for a simple interface where people can join in, and have a brief list of text information, no fancy graphics or anything, and maybe 1 picture.  I plan on storing their information on an MSSQL db.

I would also like to have it member based, so that only current members can view the other members in the 'community'.

Anyone have any ideas on how to help me?  Sorry if I'm a moron, I've just been out of the web design/programming loop for a very long time, and would like to try to get a foothold back into it, with a bit of a helped start.

Thanks in advance anyone and everyone!

DNN can be as simple or insainly complicated as you want it to be.  I would suggest downloading the install version of 3.2.2 and setting up just the default site.  You can then use the wizards to get preconfigured feels for different types of layouts.

Something like myspace would be fairly easy to do once you set up the basic look for a users page.  You could come up with the modules you wanted the users to have and the basic layout of the page and then save that as a template that is assigned to each new portal created by a user.  Set all the modules you don't want them to have access to as premium and you would be pretty far along.

Cheers,

Paul Davis
