I have noticed a small issue with my portals, the URLs after clicking a link or what not are filled with %%%% signs. This makes it very difficult for a person who wants to copy and past a URL...and well just looks strange... anyone know of this problem and or how to make the URLs less cluttered?
this is an example

Thanks in advance

Are you using Japaneese in TabNames?

TabPath is being generated from TabName field, i am using Turkish Tabnames and i have similar problems with specific characters, the only solutiıon for me was editing tabpath via SQL Management Studio. But whenever i visit pagesetting again tabpath being regenerated from TabName.

I think, DNN should allow users to write their own tabpath while creating page.

This % signs and similars are not good for Search Engine indexing. No problem with English locale but other locales have issues.

We should find a permanent solution for this problem.

I guess then we could set the portal to use tabID instead if tab names in the URL? I seem to recal seeing this somewhere but I do not remember off hand what that setting is...

Hi again, i'm having dramatic problems with my computer. Sorry for late response.

Your web.config file (at your site root path) contains a line similar to:

<add name="DNNFriendlyUrl" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Url.FriendlyUrl.DNNFriendlyUrlProvider, DotNetNuke.HttpModules" includePageName="true" regexMatch="[^a-zA-Z0-9 _-]" />

Changing above to following:

<add name="DNNFriendlyUrl" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Url.FriendlyUrl.DNNFriendlyUrlProvider, DotNetNuke.HttpModules" includePageName="false" regexMatch="[^a-zA-Z0-9 _-]" />

Can help you disable using PageName in urls.

@Mitchel Sellers;

I discussed problematic characters with Sebastian Leupold, and he logged the issue, but i cannot find it now, i am getting timeouts currently.

For better results, can you log this issue as new feature request?
