I do like DNN, but one of the more annoying thing about it (and the same goes for any commonly used forum or community site) is that I have to register an account on every DNN site. I was wondering, would it be possible to share this information between servers? Meaning, if I registered on DNN siteA and wanted to post a message on siteB, all I have to do is login and not have to register on yet another DNN site. There's probably a lot of ramifications with an idea like this, but it would be very convenient. Thoughts?

Well... have we got a deal for you.  The next version of DNN (4.6.0), which is due out in a couple of days, includes support for OpenID.  With OpenID, users will be able to use a single login accross all sites that support OpenID.  Potentially this means that you will be able to login to all DNN sites with a single OpenID account.  The DotNetNuke implementation will allow the site to request common profile data from your OpenID provider.  Depending on how DNN sites are configured, it is possible that the need to "register" at each site will be greatly reduced.

That's interesting, kind of like Microsoft's Passport/Live idea? I'll have to do some more research on this OpenId (and pray that phpBB implements it too, since I hate having to create a ton of those accounts as well :P).

Yes, openid is somewhat like microsoft passport/live.

I personally am really looking forward to being able to implement it on my site.
