That's the first time I have heard of a cert like this.  It does look like it would work, but I would asking them the same specific question about using host headers.

They may require you to not have any other IIS website on the same IP address.

I was very specific about our environment, setup and what I was trying to accomplish and they swear that it will work. They indicated that it is a brand new product that they are offering and that it works similar to a wilcard certificate except that it will allow for any number of specified URLs. I'll let you know how all this turns out because if it works like they claim it could be very useful for DNN users.

So, for anyone who is interested the Unified Communications Certificate from digicert does in fact allow you to secure multiple URLs using host headers. I installed this for a client and it works exactely like a wildcard cert except you can use any URL that you wish. Perfect for DNN portals.

I am running into what I think is this very question for  a set up I have.  just to be sure about this:

we have 1 DNN install and two sites www.Mainsite.com and www.Anotherwebsite.com

both DNS names are pointing to a single IP on IIS and DNN is working out which folder to go to based on the Name .

We want to add an ssl certificate to both sites but since they share the same IP IIS will not allow it and a wildcard cert is not applicable.

this unified certificate can handle this scenario?? it will allow for https://www.mainsite.com and https://www.anotherwebsite.com to both run on the same IP and same install of DNN?

Sorry that I wasn't active enough on responding to this quickly enough but for anyone else who comes accrross this, the answer is yes. You can use whatever URL you want all pointing to the same DNN installation. The setup is 100% like setting up a WildCard SSL except you are not limited to sub domains.
