Are the databas in 3.2 and 4.0 exactly the same?

Why I ask- I would like to prepare a site upgrade. Let the site bee online at 3.2. Take a copy do a upgrade, test it and then just change database. (I have to make the portal folder the same and some potal alias right too and change IIS)

This method is just possible if the database are the same. Maybee there are some other hagups too.

Thanks in advance

Jan

Not exactly.

All the dnn components should be the same.

There are some differences in the aspnet objects between the "MemberRole" backport and the released .NET2 version used in DNN 4.x (I think these only affect stored procedures but I cannot remember for sure).

Thanks,

Then I have to re think if its not just to run the scripts 4.00.00-02.

I can't guarantee this will work but you could extract the aspnet upgrade script from the 4.0.0 script and just run that.
