Upgraded one of my sites (running 4.5.4) to 4.6 yesterday. It appears to run fine when viewed from a Windows XP machine but I get the following server error when there is an attempt to view it from a PC running Vista - any ideas?

Yes, I assumed from the error message that this was something to do with the compression settings. What I had to do was comment out the...

<add name="Compression" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Compression.CompressionModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules" />

line in web.config and the site loaded OK. I then went into Host settings and unchecked "Use Whitespace filter". Uncommented the web.config line afterwards.

That did the trick! Thanks!

I doubt this is vista specific, and I think the link above is your problem.

Open the database and find/view the row entries the hostsettings table.
Near the bottom will be WhitespaceFilter, try changing this from "Y" to "N". Start your portal and make sure you leave the whitespacefilter setting as it is.
Please let us know if this works.

You're right. It wasn't Vista specific but it was strange that I could browse the site, logon and view updated info (such as the 4.6 release build) in host settings from my my work XP machine but couldn't from my Vista machine. Must have been something to do with caching though.

Editing the database directly would have been an easier way to solve this but, whichever, it's now working fine. Thanks!
