I have read many posts about it here to no avail.  I am getting:

Error Installing DotNetNuke

Current Assembly Version: 03.02.02

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

and this is a fresh install of 3.2.2 on a machine that has never run DNN and using MSDE 2000.  I have created the intial db and when accessing the site the first time I get this.  I have tried 4-5 variations of a connection string with no luck.
