I'm having trouble wrapping my brain around extending modules in the DNN framework. Michael Washington's module development guide gives clear instructions for writing your own module (which I've managed to do) but I can't seem to find similar step-by-step instructions for extending modules. I'd like to extend both the FAQ and Events modules (and probably others). If you have experience doing this, I would REALLY appreciate a "quick and dirty" guide to module extension. e.g. which version of DNN to install, where to put the source code for the module in question, etc. etc.

Please help. I've been wrestling with this for a few days and I'm losing my mind

If you can help me with this issue, please reply to this post. If you've done any module extending, you CAN help me. Please try. Thanks!!

We have done a lot.

But sadly -  its rare to find two modules the same
 - most have been developed over time and some have more legacy issues than others.

The source for a number are still locked at asp 1.1 and there are differing design methods.

Your best bet is to start with one - and work it thru step by step

Westa
