Hi,

With interest I have read the article about configuring the web.config about a unique email during registration. See link here: http://dnnblog.venexus.com/Enforcing+Unique+Email+Address+During+DotNetNuke+Registration.aspx

However, I have to upload from a remote database users with email and there are for sure doubles. Will this web.config modification also require the emails to be unique during upload? In that case I will have records which will fail during upload. Can anybody tell me if this would happen?

If so, is there an alternative?

J.

Emails are checked for duplicates during the registration process.  If you are using a tool that registeres users as you upload data, you'll have to eliminate the duplicate email address first, or you will have to turn off the unique email option in the web.confg.  Turing it off will let you import the users however if you are using a tool like UCanUse User Login to log users in by email address/password then the login is likely to fail when duplicate emials exist.
