Hello, I just started looking at DNN yesterday and am considering it because it's separated membership between portals is exactly what I need, but am confused about how to do really simple things like display data from a database.

Do I need to display everything from a module, or can I just create a regular aspx page? It seems like a lot more work to find/build/buy a module when I can simply use a gridview and a little sql on a regular asp.net page.

I think I am probably missing something. Can you point me in the right direction?

Thank you.

there are modules like reports or SQLSelectedDataView from www.tressleworks.ca to show query results from the database.

You can also check commercial module from http://components.init.si/. You can try it for free.

Kind regards,

Primoz
