All,

I'm confused.  What is the latest version of DNN for install?  I see that 4.6.1 has been made temporarily unavailable. Has a new version been released and am I waiting for a 4.6.2 version that fixes the errors noted in the downloads page?  I see 4.6.1 is still available in sourceforge so I don't know which one is the latest good build or if there is another build coming in the next couple of days

Thanx

From what I can tell there was a significant enough bug with the 4.6.0 release that it and the subsequent release were pulled off line until the bug is resolved.

To those of you who are working to fix the bug I say godspeed and good luck. Oh, and **** happens...we'd all love to pretend we released bug free code but the reality is far from it. I certainly do not speak for everyone but I sincerely appreciate all your efforts to create such an incredible framework.

Chris,

Thanx for the reply.  It's a little unclear to me but I think I understand.  It looks like we're waiting for a 4.6.2 release before we should upgrade from 4.5.5.  I'll wait patiently.

Frank

You can get an idea of what is going on here by looking at the Changelog - http://support.dotnetnuke.com/project/ChangeLog.aspx?PROJID=2. It looks like against issue 6351 there is a dialogue as to whether the new release will be 4.6.1 or 4.6.2. The guys are clearly working on it urgently. We'll just have to wait and see.

A bug fix introduced in DNN 4.6.0 was a breaking change, that turned out to prevent a number of 3rd party modules to continue to work properly. Unfortunately a simple rollback of this change led into another inexpectable issue in 4.6.1, which now affected a larger number of situations, therefore it was decided to immediately un-release this version and develop a fixed version that shall be released as soon as possible.
