Hi !

I'm very new.  I hope you can help me with a couple of basic questions.

1.  Which files need to be uploaded to my hosting site ?

(I have built a simple webstie with only 3 pages but there are 28Mb of files in the website folder.  Which ones should be uploaded ?)

2.  My webhost only allows index.htm, index.html, default.htm, default.html as the file names for the home page but DNN seems to generate default.aspx.  What is the correct way to handle this.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Claire

  1. if you used install package: all files, if you used source package: website folder. You can reduze size by removing all .zip and .resources files inside the /install branch and uninstall modules, you are not planning to use.
Make sure, that SQL Server is available from your hosting site and connection string is altered appropriately (not necessary if database.mdf is listed in the connection string)
  2. you might need to add a forwarding default.html page, that transfers to default.aspx
