I'm working on a skin with a vertical menu that uses a gradient over the buttons.  I'd like to use the solpart menu (or housemenu), but am having a problem trying to keep the gradient when making the menu.  Here is an image of what the menu will look like when finished:

My problem is, I can't figure out how to keep the gradients in this.  Is there a way to define an button image and respective rollover image for each individual menu item?  I believe I can actually get the menu to work if there is a way to specify that the first image button (i.e. "Solutions") has one image, the next x images have another image, and the final image (i.e. "Contact Us") uses a final image.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Well, i think you can do it as you want.  If you want you can make like HTML an specific JScript with static directions, but you should have your portal pages directions for doing this.

If you want to use the SolPartMenu items, and configure its colors according your page, go to your page css and add the solpartmenu properties, here there are some examples, but you can go to Admin -> Site Settings -> Stylesheet Editor, here you can find inside a description of the dnn css configuration components like.

/* Main Menu */

.MainMenu_MenuContainer {
}

.MainMenu_MenuBar {
}

.MainMenu_MenuItem {
}

.MainMenu_MenuIcon {
}

.MainMenu_SubMenu {
}

.MainMenu_MenuBreak {
}

.MainMenu_MenuItemSel {
}

.MainMenu_MenuArrow {
}

.MainMenu_RootMenuArrow {
}

Thanks for the suggestions.  I did consider going the route of putting in static HTML, which is still an option, but I wanted to see if there were a way to customize the solpart menu or housemenu further.

The problem with the css way is that each button needs to have a different setting or background image, since the gradient stretches over all of the buttons.  Is there a way to set a different image as the background for each solpart menu button?

i.e.  Solutions has a background image of 1.jpg, Industries has a background image of 2.jpg, Clients is 3.jpg, etc.

If this won't work, the site won't be too large, so I'll just go the HTML route, but I wanted to see if this is possible.

Thanks!

Ok, as i understand you don't really need the SolPartMenu, except to take the Login and Register controls.

As i told you before, you can use any JScript you want like you do in HTML (static pages), and the Skin will load it as you want, but i sugges you to use the SolPartMenu at less while you're building your site, i allways do it for taken the site directions and to navigate better before the SWF Directions JScript or something like that take the dinamic directions, because to change the Link is too easy, but your site can be modifyed a lot of times.
