Hi,

I have a dnn install with multiple portals. A subset of these portals aren't used anymore.

  1. I'm wondering whether it's "safe" to delete these portals from the host > portals list?
  2. Will deleting a portal also delete all tabs, modules and users linked to this portal using some kind of cascading delete?
  3. Would it be wiser to first manually delete alle modules, tabs etc and emptying the recycle bin before deleting the portal?
  4. Does an emtpy portal, that doesn't get any visits, consume a significant amount resources? Or is this unsignificant compared to the resource usage of the active portals inside the DNN install?
  5. By the way: is the recycle bin periodically cleared using the dnn scheduler? Or do the modules/tabs remain in the recycle bin untill they're manually cleared?

Thanks in advance,

rudgr

  1. yes, it should be, but I would make a backup first
  2. yes, and hopefully all module data as well
  3. usually this is not necessary
  4. there should be no real memory consumption of a portal, that does not get accessed
  5. no, the bin is by default only cleared manually
