I have a very large database size (50 mb).

Where do I go about looking for the source of the problem?  I notice there is setting in the logs that I can parse them on a rountine basis.  What I would like to do is to find out which part of the database that is increasing.

Thanks,

Two of the most common tables to take up space are the EventLog and SiteLog tables.  To see how much space each is using you can run the following SQL Scripts from your Host -> SQL Menu.  (NOTE: if you have an object qualifier you must append it to the table name!)

SP_SPACEUSED EventLog

The above will get you the size of your event log table

SP_SPACEUSED SiteLog

The above will get you the size of your site log table

These are two of the most common database size issues.  You can truncate either or both tables if needed, just remember what the data represents before making the decision.  I personally do not use the SiteLog as I find it to be too heavy on db usage both in performance and overall db size.
