Hi Everyone,

I beleive I have follow some cookbook desciptions and have made Active Directory suncronization work in DNN 4.6.2 (upgraded from preveious versions), but it only works, if I manually enter the following URL in the browser:

 http://XXXX/DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/windowssignin.aspx

If I use the "Login" link in upper right corner, and select "Windows login" followed by using "domainname\username" with accompanying password, I get

A critical error has occurred.
Invalid Password

So automatic login based on whatever the user is logged into windows with works... But if I manually try to log in, it doesn't work... Can someone spread some light on this ?

Best regards

Jakob

Is your password less than 7 characters? When manually logging in you're subjected to the minPasswordLength that's set in the web.config. I set ours at work to match the minimum password length enforced by the domain (and then forget to reset it everytime I do an upgrade on the site ).

Hi Mike,

Thank you very much... This was exactly the problem. Changing AD account password so that it obeyed to the DotNetNuke requirements solved the problem... Now I am able to both login manually and automatically...

Perfect...

Regards

Jakob
