Hi.  I have a basic question - How do I create my own setting on Settings.ascx?  I understand I need to add (for example) a textbox control for the user to input a setting, but how do I then save it via code?  Basic question I know, but I'm just getting started.

Thanks,
Mike

The basic answer is that your Settings.ascx control will inherit from the DotNetNuke.Entities.Modules.ModuleSettingsBase class and will override the base's LoadSettings and UpdateSettings methods to retrieve custom settings from either ModuleSettings or TabModuleSettings, modify or input the desired settings using textbox controls, dropdown lists, checkboxes, etc. and then save the modified custom settings to the database.

The best way to learn the details is to take a look at the Settings.ascx and Settings.ascx.vb files of any of the core module projects. Don't forget to add/register your Settings.ascx control using the Host-->Module Definitions page.
