If I had to made one gripe of DNN it is the lack of variety of skins and containers. It seems most like those on snowcovered are basicaly the same just recolored or/and minor tweaks to formatting. 90% of them seem for all intents IMO the same. A few take some risks or quite unique but sadly the vast majority seems more of the same. Coming from a PHP CMS this is a stark contrast. While the PHP CMS's are more limited on several fronts vs DNN, they do have a very wide and flavorful selection of skins.

I would like to get some thoughts on why it seems 90%+ of the skins are business, technology or related geared and few if any for sites such as gaming, fantasy/medieval, tv show/film themed and so on. Seems to me a project this large would have a group of fans of a movie or game or book or tv show etc making skins based or related on such.

Personally I'd kill for a skin with a medieval, pagan/witchcraft or medieval fantasy look/feel but have found 0.

You pretty much answered your own question.  DNN has more of a following of developers and business people because of it being ASP.Net and in the PHP world you are going to find more gamers.

All is not lost though, here is one to start with: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Forums/tabid/795/forumid/109/threadid/145896/scope/posts/Default.aspx

Also keep in mind that any skin you can find in the PHP world can be converted over to a DNN skin.

I think I can find a few more...  BRB

You can always make your own or have one made for you.  I have a feeling you're not complaining about the lack of skins so much as the lack of your specific idea.
