In 4.3.x I had to manually hack the fck editor into DNN and it worked fine, now with 4.5.5 they added this editor by default. It works good however, now there is this annoyance in their implementation that when I press enter it seems to double space rather then start directly below the previous line of text. I know this is not just my install as it happens on this site as well. None the less when then text posts it displays fine, however, when in the editor its quite annoying. Is there any way to correct this?

Hi,

Hold down shift and hit enter.

In the HTML this will cause a <BR> tag as opposed to just hitting enter which will create <P></P> tags.

You can edit the config file for the FCK Editor to change the return tag from <p> to <br/> that will get you the desired functionality.

I believe the files are in /Providers/HtmlEditorProviders/  (Or something close to that...)

If you choose to do this, be aware of the implications - such as that bullets and numbered lists won't work properly. This topic has been discussed previously. I would suggest getting used to pressing <shift><enter> when you want a single line break, and just <enter> for a new paragraph and then having properly formed html.

Well that is odd. As in the early 4.x vers where you had to hack in the FCK editor manually, it was configed for single line CR when you press enter and all the functions seemed to work ok. So what changed between then and now?
