I was wondering if there is any way to repair/re-synch a DotNetNuke install?  This behaviour is sometimes useful in hosting environments where customers are allowed to roam through their file system.  Consider the case where a user goes into his DotNetNuke directory and deletes all his data accidentally...is it possible to repair any of the damage?  My preliminary testing shows that the DNN database and file structure are closely linked and if I simply try to copy over a fresh DotNetNuke folder into a broken directory and then set appropriate web.config settings it doesn't repair the problem.  Moreover, looking through the Install.aspx.vb there are no options dealing with a repair (e.g. a repair mode -> Install/Install.aspx?mode=repair).

Is the only option a re-install?  Is there any way to save any DotNetNuke settings and/or worksmanship?  Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Backup before and restore after are the best way to repair a broken DNN site.

That might be the best way but what if he cannot is there a way to repair?

It depends on what is broken.

Going to the File Manager and Synchronizing may be enough in the scenario described.
