Firstly appologies for starting a new thread for a Windows Authentication problem.

I have been trawling through the forums and there are a few.

Problem is that all the solutions start off with - Login as Admin, go Admin -> Authentication and check Windows Authentication.

I have DNN 4.6.2 and do not have this option. I have looked for a module and checked the AD project for downloads but just cant find where to get started.

I have seen a number of posts (namely http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/89/threadid/53005/scope/posts/Default.aspx)

and have tried enabling <add name="Authentication" type="DotNetNuke.HttpModules.AuthenticationModule, DotNetNuke.HttpModules.Authentication" /> in webconfig.

Any help would be appreciated

You first have to install the AD provider.  Once this is done, you would then go into the admin section of your portal to configure windows authentication. It only appears after you have installed the AD provider.  A couple of links to get you going in the right direction:

Hope this helps.

Hi, I've one litlle question: where can I download the AD provider?? Because if I browse to \Providers\LoggingProviders there is only XMLLoggingProvider but nothing about the AD. And once i have downloaded, how is the installation method? Maybe in Host -> Host Settings -> Authentication settings?? Thanks

P.S.: Sorry for my english...

which DNN version are you using? Authentication providers including AD have been added in DNN 4.6.0

all 4 providers are already packages with the release, to install AD or cardspace, that are not installed by default, go to Host -> Host Settings -> Authentication settings and click add. afterwards you need to enable and configure it in admin -> Authentication
