I am having an issue getting the forums configured properly.  I have enabled attachments in the Forum settings, and have been able to add an attachment successfully as the administrator.  However, if I log on as any other role I can add a new thread, and can reply to an existing thread, but I cannot upload a new attachment.  What do I need to do to configure who can upload attachments?

Assuming you are using version 4.4.3 of the module, you need to give them permissions in the Attachments column of the forum permissions grid (forum edit page). You also need to make sure there is a folder in dnn file manager where people can view/write files to.

No Luca, it is a core control and that is not a property that is exposed.

I am new to DNN, so forgive me if I am missing something here.

1.  Why is there a dropdown for "File Location" if there is never more than a single option?

2.  It seems to me that even with a forum with a small user base, after a couple months that file name dropdown is going to be completely out of control with hundreds of files listed.  I'm not sure I even understand the point of listing already uploaded files, but if that feature is going to exist it needs to be scalable to a large base of users with many files.

By core control do you mean that it is used elsewhere in the DNN framework for other things than the forum.  Is that why it doesn't seem to make sense for forum posts?  Is this on a todo/bug list?

Thanks.
