Hi, I'm new to DNN.

I have a clean install of 4.6.2 (windows server 2003 Std SP2, SQL 2005 server (on the same box))

The install went fine and I can loggin and play around with the site. I can make pages, add users and everything seems OK.

But, when I try and upload any files I run into a problem. After I have chosen the file to upload and click the "upload file" link the browser sits about for a bit then fails with a standard browser "Page Cannot be Displayed" message. Ahh, but if the file being uploaded in less than 1kb in size!!! it works OK??

This is stoping me from loading new skins as well as plain files and site logos(bigger than 1kb)

I have tried doing this from a remote workstation as well as on on the same LAn as well as on the Web server itself and all fail.

Am I missing a setting on IIS that is limiting the file transfer size??

Many thanks - Maritn

AHHHHHHH!!!!!

After many hours of cursing, scratching my head, hoping someone would point out that I was making a stupid mistake I discovered what the problem was and fixed it.

It took a fresh server build, a new install of SQL and DNN for me to come the conclusion that either DNN hada a bug (but no one else seemed to be reporting the same problem) or that there was something outside of my server build that was causing it. There was. My Firewall. I finally monitored the network packets that were going between my workstation and my DNN server, and I could see the server reset the connection just after the file transfer started. On my Firewall I found a setting that was labled "drop non http traffic on port 80" turned it off and hey presto it not works!!!.

Humm. must remember to sniff packets more offten. Could have saved many many hours.

Hope this might help someone else if they have the same problem.

Thanks - Martin
