I was upgrading the modules on a customer's 4.06.02 installation and after I clicked the to install the zip file I had browsed to the whole site went down. I hadn't made an immediate backup of either the sql or the directory.

We ran a restore of the directory from the last automatic backup on the server (yesterday) and the last sql backup we had that wasn't corrupt (4 days ago). Now the site shows, and I can get around in the control panel (as host), but all links when you browse to the site return to the main page and our tabs are gone.

Help!

I suggest to restart the application by adding a blank to a comment in web.config file and saving it

if this doesn't help, there might have been left  a code file, that now gets compiled as well and interferes with the restored application.
