I have read the FAQs, and I plan to do some testing tomorrow, but I was curious to know what (if any) upgrade issues anyone has had moving from the Forum Module v3.20.09 to v4.04.03.

I have done my upgrades an all my pages without any issues.

You must look at some changes on the permissions procedure, and on the Management.  So please Check your settings in the Forum administration after Upgrade.  If you have a own Layout for your forum, so it can be you have to do some changes, about the new features.

We have done many tests, before we going in release process, and re testing by release Team too.  So we think there will be no errors on upgrade.

Regards

Matthias

The New Forum using at time only one Template (Layout) that is called as Default, there have the settings for the images set to png files.  Using of Thread Status and Pools have set by Forum settings.  Avatrs have set to the existing Folders, Gallery Module is no longer needed.  For Using Notification in your Forum you have set the settings in Notification, and enabled the Scheduled Tasks for it. If you need other mail text for your mails you can modified in the templates.

Permissions can setting on 2 ways.  So you can use the Modulesettings, also override with the permissions that you can enabled in the Forums.

For upgrading you must only run the Forum zip file in the Module defination, as install.

New Functions have be to enabled in the Settings, ie. PM messages are in the General Settings.  Some Users must update there user settings for it.

Who to do for modification own Layouts I can not help.

Regards

Matthias

When I try to get into Forum Configuration I get this sometimes after upgrading....

Forum Configuration
Error: Forum Configuration is currently unavailable.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.Settings.BindMemberNameTypes() at DotNetNuke.Modules.Forum.Settings.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Many of the pictures are not coming up which I assume the Theme and the default picture type need to be set in Forum Configuration.  Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

Bill
