I am installing DNN 3.2.2 on Windows 2003 Server, along with SQL Server 2000.  The Windows 2003 Server is also the domian controller.  I am receiving the following message that I am trying to find a solution for.  From the nature of the message, one would think that one needs to provide permissions to the C:\Windows\Temp folder... however I have opened up C:\Windows\Temp to the NETWORKSERVICE account... and this does no good.  Why would a ".cs" be created in the Windows Temp directory during installation ???

I have tried replacing the DotNetNuke directory and recreating the SQL database between his attempted install (probably 16 attempts by now)... but this does not help.

I have resolved the above problem by changing the security permissions to the C:\Windows\Temp directory so that evryone on planet Earth can read/write to it.

I also had a similar problem with the C:\Windows\Microsoft.Net directory... however I resolved it earlier by changing security permissions so that the NetworkService account has read/write permissions.

I should also point out that this was an out-of-the-box Windows 2003 Server (w/SP1) installation.... so I would anticipate these same problems are quite likely for anyone installing DNN on a fresh Windows 2003 Server.   Evidently, the tighter Windows 2003 Server security model is the source of the problem.   It would certainly make sense to enhance the DNN installation ReadMe notes.

I agree that the documentation needs to be updated, at the very least the installation guide should give you instructions on the proper permissions used for directory access as well as setting up the correct permissions for the SQL database. I am also wondering what issues there will be with installing the community edition on Windows 2008 Server if there are this many with 2003. Would have saved me a few hours of tinkering if I had the info up front.
