Is there a way to set a Home Page for each user or maybe for each user role?

There are third party modules that will redirect based on role, and there are also personal homepage modules. They all vary greatly in important details so make sure you know exactly what you need it to do.

To start off, check Snowcovered for portal sign-up, personal gallery, user redirect, etc.
