for anyone still looking for hosting recommendations stay away from ARVIXE. Their support is the absolute WORST. They no longer even have a phone number you can call you have to submit a "ticket" or use their online "chat". Tickets go unanswered for days and sometime weeks. And there techs often have no idea what they're doing or talking about. I had tech today tell me i needed to delete the default.aspx file after I had already explained that the offending lines of code had been removed. They didn't understand that that file was part of the site! They are the worst and I've already started the migration process for my sites and all my client sites.

I should also mention that Arvixe's advertised uptime is a lie and joke. They had multiple outages in the past year, some lasting for days and many more "slowdowns". On one ticket I submitted their tech finally contacted me 3 weeks later! ridiculous.

I have been using Microsoft Azure for the past two years.  Average uptime is on the order of 99%.  Great support, as well as response time on the order of 300 milliseconds.

I've found www.managed.com / www.powerdnn.com to be great. They know DNN, have great support, and good uptime.

While I doubt the warning about AVOIDING ARVIXE needs to be repeated I wish to do so. I have several DNN sites on them, a couple for several years and the price/performance was good. They no longer provide anything that could be considered support. There is nothing but chat with people in India, I assume. These people are polite but useless and everything but the most simple things has to be elevated via their double secret ticketing system to the next level. There may actually be a second level but it is not evident based on the WEEKS it takes to get any action, much less closure, on any tickets.

This article has some details about what happened at Arvixe and why it should be avoided like the plague:
