I'm running into a slight glitch with this template.  It requires a summary, but the editor doesn't show a box for entering it unless I switch it to the "Basic Text Box" editor instead of the "Rich Text Editor".

On that same note, since the summary and description appear identically on the screen, we could probably ditch the summary altogether and just use the description.

Hey Dan,
That's an easy fix, which would you prefer?
- remove SUMMARY field completely?
- add SUMMARY field to the Upload/Edit Form?

Either one of two things...

1.  Put the summary in the top line (where the filename is), since it is basically a duplication of the "download" button on the same line.

2.  Remove the summary field completely.

In most cases here, I cannot get my users to enter much into the right fields anyways, so it might be better to drop it entirely.

Typically what they do is something like this:
-They name the file to upload "meeting notice 10-24-07.pdf".
-They enter the summary as "meeting notice 10-24-07".
-They enter the description as "meeting notice 10-24-07".
Then they upload it...

lol .. users ...  :)

I updated the template, you can go and re-download it, just install it over the older version replacing the files. Only the form.html and template.html files have been changed.

- I removed the SUMMARY tag completely from the Upload/Edit form and the Display template.

If you need any other changes or tweaks, just ask :)

Hi Steve,

Reading this forum post made me go and look at the the .html files in the repository templates folder ... now I understand what is going on in the forms.

What I would like to know is can you assign your own DNNLable tags and subsequent fields? I use the business card template currently. It was the best fit for my use but I have had to do a little bit of fancy footwork to get it to give me the results I wanted. For example the business card template does not have a contact person name, a telephone number field, and other fields.

It would be nice if I could simply add the DNNLables for the fields I want and then just modify the form.html (which I understand determine the layout for the form used when uploading data), and the template.html, (which is used to display the info from the repository).

Also if this can be done, could you specify or add a search facility to serach on one or more of the fields?
