Is there any way to link the roles in DNN to query based distribution groups rather than security groups?

A company I'm setting up DNN for only use QBDG's rather than security groups. They find this a lot easier to administer as they have 1200 staff.

No there isn't. I haven't used QBDG's before so I just did some quick (really quick) reading up on them. I don't see why they find it easier as it looks like you still have to manipulate the user's object if something changes so that the query would work (user moves from Sales to Marketing) but that's their choice.
