I built my site using Visual Studio 2005 and SQL Server Express.

When it was ready, I created a .bak file of the database and uploaded it to my host, who then restored it to a previously created empty database of the same name. I then uploaded my site, filled in the connection strings, database user, password etc and all has been well ever since. No problems whatsoever.

In the months since the database/site has been on-line, it has grown with users and blog posts etc. Anyway, I wanted to attach it again to my  local website for a bit of maintenance and testing etc. So, I asked my host to create a backup of the database, which they did and I downloaded. I then did a restore on my computer and it worked fine, could see all my data - but only in SQL Server Express. When I try to run the site locally, however, with the pre-existing connection string, it doesn't work. Any ideas what I need to do?

Thanks.
