Starting yesterday, one of my accounts started to behave strangely.

When logging on the account page that are not administrative pages loads fully (well formed source code) with all the containers, but the content of the containers are empty. All the pages that this account is supposed to see are visible. That account has admin rights, supper user rights, and registered user rights. To my knowledge this is the only account with this problem. All other accounts work fine. This account is important as it the one we use to interface with the user base. Before starting the troubleshooting we have not modified the account.

Here are all the things I have tried without finding a solution:

  • Remove all the roles via the web interface and reinstated the roles
  • Match the account roles with the one of functioning account - no difference
  • Created another account with the roles of the broken one - The new account function fine
  • Remove the Registered User role and restored it from the account (direct from DB)
  • Made a change in the web.config in an effort to clear  the cache
  • Tried from a different computer
  • Tried with both IE and FireFox
  • Search this forum for clues

I am running out of ideas. Does anyone ever had that problem before? What am I missing? What else can I do?

Thank you,

Have you tried clicking on the "Design" button? It sometimes gets stuck in a mode which the UI does not reflect.

It switches from Design mode to Edit mode (not sure what the term for it is) - but occasionally there is a problem with the cookie (I am guessing) and the UI does not reflect the actual mode it is in, so you need to reset it by clicking this button. This problem cost me a good 2 hours and a LOT of panicing, and I am seeing it on the forums a lot recently...

Someone mentioned that the Design button was being done away with in 4.7...
