I downloaded the Starter Kit

I ran it and went to New Website (My templates) and loaded the DNN template.

Controls.html, controlwindow.js, spellchecker.html, spellchecker.js, spellerstyle.css, wordwindow.js,fckpasteplaintextcommand.js plus a couple of other files were not found.

I ran the project... Noticed a syntext error lower left hand corner of the first install wizard page and errors were noted on every page after that.

I noticed the version from the first page to be 4.06.02 but no pictures were showing up (example: logo.gif wasn't there)

I selected typical next, Checked permissions =ok next, Configure and test database connection, test connion pass, Clicking the next button takes me to installing the scripts (It made a version table in the database... the next button seems to be there right away and it refuses to go to the next page.

Any ideas to get me going?

Regards,

Chris

Update... I got the install to work by using the Ctrl F5 and auto install option... now I am trying to find the Admin and Host Passwords

I got it to load on another computer by using the ctrl f5 and auto install method.

Still had a problem. a video clip on the dnn site told me the default pw for host was host and admin was admin. I could not get either to work ... I resolved this by putting in a new user and changing the password in the database to the new users password. tbl = aspnet_membership and the fields to replace with the data of the known users password 'Password' and 'Passwordsalt'

I will look at transfering over to a sql db after i will become more familer with this application.

The video clip isn't up to date any more: the default passwords are dnnhost and dnnadmin.

Vera,

Thanks for the reply and thanks for the information.

I'm still laughing at myself, I didn't scroll down on the created Home page...  ha the login/passwords were right in front of me.

Regards,

Chris
