I have a GoDaddy hosting account which came with DotNetNuke 4.5.3. I click on the link, and it goes through the install automatically. The problem is that I cannot access DotNetNuke. GoDaddy says I need to uninstall and reinstall the application, and if it still happens I need to visit this forum for assistance. I find it strange that before I discovered DotNetNuke, I tried to install an ecommerce open source program called DashCommerce, and received the exact same error. What do I need to do? I'm thinking it might come down to changing hosting plans. I'm so new at this not sure which direction I should go. I'm getting the following error:

Server Error in '/dotnetnuke' Application.

Runtime Error

Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
    <system.web>
        <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
</configuration>

Do you have access to the web.config on the site? If yes then do as the error suggests and set the custemErrors mode to Off so that you can see the exact error message that's being generated. Right now it's probably set to RemoteOnly which means you'd have to be on the server to see the error message.
