I downloaded the source code for DNN and successfully installed it on my local workstation and also on a server.  Now I want to see if I can precompile the source and get that running on the server.  Are there any tricks to this.

Here are the steps I followed to try to get the precompiled code to the server.

1.)  Installed DNN using the standard installation procedures.  The site was working when all the source code was on the server.

2.)  "Pubish web site" within VS 2005.  Selected the "Use fixed naming and single page assemblies" option.

3.)  Deleted all but the web.config file on the server.

4.)  Copied the files from the "Publish" to the existing folder on the server.

5.)  Now when I hit the default.aspx page I get the following in the address bar.  Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Could+not+find+a+part+of+the+path+'C%3a%5cInetpub%5cwwwroot%5cStPatRE%5cwebsite%5cApp_GlobalResources%5cLocales.xml'.&content=0

I'm either missing something or doing something that I shouldnt' be.  Any ideas?

I used the "publish web-site option in VS 2005 and migrated the code to the production server.  I moved up all the files except the web.config, as it is my understanding that the web.config file is updated during the installation process.

precompilation of the site is currently not supported by DotNetNuke.
