Hello

We have just migrated to DNN 4.6.2 and the URL seems different from that of DNN 3. In DNN 3 the URL displayed as http://dxwestern.eskom.co.za/ while in DNN 4.6.2 it displays as http://blvabs01/DNN/Default.aspx?alias=blvabs01/dnn/home - this address though not whole string is required for loading seems a bit long. Is there a setting change in web.config file or on the actual server that needs to be done to prevent Alias being displayed in URL.

Another question: The virtual path in IIS is called DNN, is there anyway to set this such that it is not part of calling string in URL eg http://blvabs01/DNN/ could be http://blvabs01 and it then loads up DNN?

Thanking you

Lucielle

Lucielle,

http://blvabs01/DNN/Default.aspx?alias=blvabs01/dnn/home is necessary, if you use a child portal with a redirecting alias and AFAIK this has not changed. Assign a parent portal e.g. in a sub doumain and you will get rid of the issue.

you get rid of /dnn in parent portals, if you install DNN in the root of your (additional) web site instead of using a virtual directory in IIS.
