For some reason the Repository won't install on a hosted version of DNN. Most other modules have loaded fine.

The problem has occured with both version Repository_03.01.08_Install.zip and Repository_03.01.06_Install.zip

The issue manifests itself when you try uploading the new module it just goes on and on until I cancel. I've added an error to the manifest file by intentionally removing one of the provider files. When I upload that version it errors as expected. But a fresh install zip file still never throws any kind of error or status message.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this further?

Thanks

John

How far does it appear to get? what is the last message displayed during the installation process? Anything in the log that might indicate what the issue is?

That's the bad part, I'm not getting any messages displayed (without intentially causing one by deleting a provider script file fromthe zip). I've looked through the logs and I'm not seeing any messages there either.

I'm new to the module deployement process. Any suggestions on other ways to troubleshoot this?

How difficult would it be to manually install the module?

Thanks

John

quick question .. you mentioned that you're installing this on a hosted server ... who is your web host? Is it a commercial hoster? or your own server?

Does you site have a previous version of the Repository module? either the DotNetNuke version ( 3.01.06 ) or the original Gooddogs Repository Module?

You can certainly install the module manually. I'll put some instructions together, but it will take a bit of time .. hopefully by the end of the day, or tomorrow.

I'm using VortechHosting.com. I have also tried this on my local dev server and have had the same problem.

There have been previous attempts to install 3.01.06 version, with the same problem. There are subdirectories out there for the /desktopModules/repository/

I will try deleting those and reinstalling.

There are also no Repository tables that I'm aware of and no obvious repository DLLs in the bin.

Thanks again for your help.

John

P.S. I like your sisgnature tagline. It reminds me of the last 9-5 coding job I had.
