I have a livve site at www.totalgarage.ca, and I have been working on a new website using DNN that is at  www.totalgarage.ca/dotnetnuke  now all these containers have images, etc that all have the path /dotnetuke/portals...   in it.  How do I move the site to "/"  withought neding to go thhrough all the content and modifying it to "/"  from "/DotNetNuke"  ?

Thanks

Unfortunately you'll have to go through your content and replace the paths if they are hardcoded. If you're working with Text/HTML modules you can use the Engage: F3 module available from www.engagemodules.com. It allows you to search through all Text/HTML modules on your site and locate a specific string. It currently doesn't do a search/replace, but it will at least find all instances and give you a direct link to edit that content.

Best of all the Engage: F3 module is free!

That REALLY bites.... I guess I'll just do it via SQL then on the server.  Since i'm doing a Replace, is there a macro or special tag I can replace it with so its dynamic?  like %dotnetnuke% or something ? that points to the file repository?

Thanks.

Quentin:

For images in the HTML/Text module, I use the notation below and it works well for me.

            /Portals/1/Images/image.gif

Don't confuse this with other formats used in module development though, in VB code you may see other ways to achieve the same thing.

And you need to know the specific Portal number for the portal you are dealing with also.

I will be releasing a free search/replace module that will find and replace any text string within any/all instances of the Text/HTML Module in the next week or so...
