I've copied my desired icon into the portal root and named it favicon.ico.  However it's not getting used, in fact I've got an icon that isn't mine or the default DNN icon.  Can anyone explain?

Thanks for your reply but I have a couple problems: 1) your solution forces all portals to use the same favicon.ico - I struggle that the Core Team would allow such a restriction.  2) I can't locate the icon that shows up next to my URL in the Address bar and on my IE7 tab aywhere in my DNN instalation path - I've got this orange and yellow flame thingy.

By the way my desired favicon.ico already resides in the installation root as you suggest as well as in the portal root as I described and DNN is ignoring it and posting this flame from somewhere.

Again I appreciate your response but something else is wrong here.

One other piece of info is that when I view source I do see this line of code:

<link rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="/Portals/0/favicon.ico" />

 The portal in question is 0 and the favicon.ico file that resides there is not the one showing up on my browser.
