Can someone point me to some answers please? I am very confused by everything that I read on developing modules.  It seems there are multiple ways to go about this.  Can you please state what is the currently supported best case way to do this... I see articles on WAP, articles on opening the root of the site and adding folders manually for the module and I also see the BlankModule approach http://vladan.strigo.net/Default.aspx?TabId=76

I am just starting and want to do this right... can someone please point me to information that helps me understand the best and most efficient way to develop.

A good way to get started is to use the Starterkit to get DNN running from Visual Studio and then use the DotNetNuke Dynamice Module project template to see the preferred way of working.

In end it will depend on lots more things to decide what the best way to go is for your specific situation.

Austin - not to sound like a d*** but are you wanting to develop modules to sell or just for yourself

Me I like to build modules as the Dynamic compiled modules and then when its all tested and working make it a compiled module if I think I want to move it around. You can get templates for both those in the Starter Kits for Visual Studio - there is nothing wrong with any method as long as it works for you

A lot of times i copy module and then change namespaces - sometimes its a lot quicker to do that than start with a new template of blank module

sorry - I didnt finish this if for yourself then do what you want - if you are developing to sell then you might look at how its done in the core modules

I am looking to develop modules that are fast running and portable... resale is not that big of a deal for me really.
