Most blog tools that I have used (specifically dasblog) allow you to ping weblogs.com or another directory.  I have noticed that I have lost some search engine traffic and I think it is because of this.  Also I would like to use URL rewritting to change nantz.org/blog to http://www.nantz.org/Blog/tabid/57/Default.aspx.  How do I do this??

Thank you for your help.

It would be tough for them to build something that can be so dynamic into this blog module.  I have found the best solution for this to be to use Pingoat.com or Pingomatic.com.  Once you submit to one of those pinging services, copy the end link and create a hidden link on your blog page.  Everytime that you post a blog entry, follow suit by clicking the link to announce it to the world.

Thanks for the tip.  I will try that.  It shouldn't be hard to build in the top 3 or 4 directories into the blog engine.  DasBlog is also OpenSource and we could look at how they do it and do something similar.  In the meantime, I will take you advice and keep on blog'n.
