i m still trying to install DNN to my pc. But when i try to set file permissions, there is no ASP.NET Machine Account this user? Do u know where to create this user account?

That account and the NETWORK SERVICE account is created automatically when the .NET framework is installed.

Are you trying to install on a computer that isn't on a domain and/or has simple file sharing turned on? If the Simple File Sharing is turned on then it has to be turned off. I can't remember off the top of my head how to do it but a quick Google search should help you find the answer.

ya..i turned off ady. but that ASP.NET Machine Account still not exist...how come? anyone helps?

The user name may not display in the list of users. Try typing aspnet and then see if the user name resolves.

If you are installing this on your machine using IIS 5, you will have to use the ASPNET user account instead of Network Service. You should be able to find that account using [PCNAME]\ASPNET.
