I was wondering how to automatically synch a module.

Clear as mud? I thought so. Ok, in other words, I would like to change/add/delete links, events, and other assorted data and have the changes automatically cascade to the appropriate pages.

For example, I have a link module. I want the same links on ten other assorted pages. If I update one, it would be really nice if they would all reflect the changes, similar to Master/Content pages.

I understand the import/export function, but I was hoping there was something already "on the ground" that would apply the changes without the need to import changes manually. I have some big sites and this could get ... interesting.

It would be nice if I didn't have to write new code, if there is a way ...

Thanks in advance,

Marc

If you have a module that you want to have on multiple pages with the same information you could simply set it to display on all pages, then the module would handle the update proces and you have 1 admin area..

Outstanding! Not only is it already there, it's easy too!

Of course, this begs the question, does it display on every page (obviously not) and how do you control it?

Maybe UPS will deliver that DNN book I ordered from Amazon today.

WHen you set a module to display on all pages it will be added to all pages, you can then remove it from the pages that you don't need it on.

Your other option is to create the first page with the module, then create the other pages with a "reference" to the module on the first page.  (This is an advanced option when creating a new page, the copy from section).
