My current DNN implementation is hosting 5 portals (i.e. single IIS site). I need to track web statistics for each of these portals separately. Does anyone know of a tool that can do this? I'd like to think there is something available without resorting to writing something using log parser or other hand rolled solutions. I've tried deepmetrix and smarterstats and I like both of them but neither has the ability to create separate statistics for each domain. Anyone have ideas? Thanks

in Host Settings, you can switch to save log data in files (instead of database), this will disable log viewer in admin menu.

instead you get files written, you can read by standard log analysers like SmarterStat.

Apparently my post was very unclear.   I'm already getting log data in files (not the DB) and as indicated, I've already tried smarter stats.  Unless I'm missing something with smarter stats pro, that doesn't solve my problem.   The problem is that all my log files are for all portals, not individual portals and I want seperate stats for each portal.   I'm not aware that DNN solves that problem for me but I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in a viable solution to this.  Is there a configuration option I'm missing?  Otherwise, surely there is a tool that can handle this scenario without having to write one.

You can setup Google Analytics for each portal.  See this post on how to insert it into your portal.

Good Luck,

Mike

If you are using, say, a google analytics script, and you inject it into a default.aspx file, it won't work with the portals.  There are modules on snowcovered that allow you to use analytics as modules and/or skin object.
