 I'm crossposting this from "Configure This!" because it seems appropriate here and I'm still having the problem. despite upgrading my dnn and doing the other things described below.

I was trying to customize the new users e-mail notification message for my site and got this when I sent a test message:

Date: The current date

Beginning of message ...

Password: Membership:Password}

... rest of message

I thought I had done it right, but I guess I put a curly brace instead of a bracket for the [MEMBERSHIP:PASSWORD].

Now, every time I try to add a dummy user as a test, I get the exact same message, even though I fixed it in the EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_ADMINISTRATOR_SUBJECT.Text  in Languages (the GlobalResources.resx file -- I have registration set to none), then deleted my temporary internet files, then replaced the GlobalResources.resx file with the default (I had saved the files from the installation on my local hard drive), then replaced all the user administration forms. Still, the same message ... even though the EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_ADMINISTRATOR_SUBJECT.Text   shows the default, uncustomized message.

Can anyone tell me why this message won't go away and how can I get it to go back to the one that's in the EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_ADMINISTRATOR_SUBJECT.Text box?

Thanks.

you should change the text where you entered it: if you used language editor in Admin :: Languages, your customisation ist stored in an additonal file that is loaded after the default resource file.

Sebastian:

I've done that ... twice. The changes seem to have been made in admin/languages but when I send out a test registration, I get the same e-mail back.

I've upgraded the installation and swapped files with the default ones. Nothing seems to work. That message has to be cached somewhere. Where would Iook for it?

Sebastian, you are awesome! I fixed and replace that file and it did the trick.

One last question, though -- I'm still getting the registration message contained in that file, not in the Language section of the site (which I updated; and I restrated the app just to make sure). Can I delete GlobalResources.Portal-0.resx? If I do that, will the app regenerate that page based on GlobalResources.resx?

Thanks again for all your help,

PK
