I have been having some troubles with my new DNN site, which is using v4.7. My site was really slow, and my hosting company said that it was hitting their IIS memory limit of 50mb per site, and DNN was unloading and reloading as a result. They upped the memory allocation to 100mb and things improved, but it is still at 89mb and the site is new so hits are low at present. I'm concerned about the impact of a good SEO session that starts to drive business to my site. My site is pretty simple, but does use a custom skin, and I have unloaded all other modules apart from login/TextHTML/XMOD/XMODRSS/Blog/Skin/DNNSiteMap/Documents/Search/UserAccount/SkinObjects and FAQ. Is this 89mb footprint reasonable for a simple site, and are my hosting company (dotnetted.co.uk) realistic in setting a 100mb IIS memory allocation per site? Finally, what can I do to reduce the footprint further? My peformance setting are: PageStatePersistence = Page ModuleCachingMethod=Disk PerformanceSettings=HeavyCaching AuthenticatedCachability=public Compression=deflate Whitespace=off Thanks

I don't think, you can further decrease footprint except by reducing caching, which will affect performance. DNN is a application framework, that needs memory by its own and its flexibility also takes additional memory. You might need to swich to a hosting plan, that offers enough memory.

Thanks for the response Sebastian.

Does anybody know of a UK-based DNN hoster who may offer better shared-server specs? I did consider using PowerDNN, but I need my site (which is a .com) to rate well in Google.co.uk, and I am not sure if a US-based host would mean that Google would categorise it as a generic .com rather than a UK-focussed site. Anyone have a view on this?

Thanks
